Living day to day and not thinking about how your actions will affect your future, isn't for everyone...
It so easy to just roll with the punches, "live each day like it's your last".. But then, what do you do when in its not your last? You realize those people you thought were great just wasted your time, the guy you took a chance on turned out to be an asshole, that class you thought you'd be so good at was actually much worse than you anticipated..
THINKING isn't always such a bad thing. Considering what might be best for you in the future isn't always such a bad thing. But then they say "If you're too busy thinking about your future, how do you enjoy right now?"
You enjoy right now, because you thought about it 2 years ago. And 2 years ago you thought about how to put yourself in a position to enjoy today, and today you'll do the same for your life 2 years from now.
Taking chances isn't for anyone... Maybe I value my future too much to mess up again just for the thrill of the moment
